PHi Mixing

PHI’s patented Hydro-Pulse™ mixing system delivers a unique approach to mixing liquids in tanks and basins with no in-basin moving parts — resulting in reliable performance, simple operation, and significant energy savings compared with traditional mixers.

The Hydro-Pulse system uses sequential injections of compressed air (large “hydro-pulses”) to mix the entire contents of a tank. Because the process does not entrain oxygen and avoids mechanical shear, it’s effective in environments from anoxic wastewater basins to potable water tanks and lift stations.

The Hydro-Pulse mixing system operates by releasing large pulses of compressed air through stainless-steel forming plates at the bottom of the basin. As these pulses rise and break at the surface, they generate tank-wide circulation without mechanical agitation or oxygen entrainment — resulting in gentle, energy-efficient mixing throughout.

The system’s fully adjustable pulsing and lack of mechanical components in the basin make it a reliable, low-maintenance, and long-lasting solution.

Applications

The Hydro-Pulse mixing system can be used in:

  • Water & wastewater basins
  • Anoxic and aeration tanks
  • Lift stations
  • Sludge holding and EQ tanks
  • Chemical and polymer mixing
  • Potable water tanks
  • Other liquid storage or treatment environments
