Heavy runoff caused sanitary sewer overflows  in the Town of La Plata, Maryland. At the La Plata Wastewater Reclamation Facility, high influxes of clear water washed away much of the bacteria colony in the sand filters.

Parkson Implements Phosphorous Removal System at Membrane Bioreactor Plant in Korea

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Parkson has implemented an energy-efficient phosphorous removal system at a membrane bioreactor (MBR) plant in South Korea to help achieve some of the tightest standards for phosphorous removal in the world.

The installation at the wastewater treatment plant is the first of its kind to pair an MBR system with the new DynaSand® EcoWash™ sand filtration technology, which offers huge energy savings over traditional sand filters.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Parkson Corporation has redesigned the DynaSand® sand filtration system to reduce backwash water volume by as much as 90%, according to the results of a real-world trial.

The new DynaSand® EcoWash™ builds on the success of Parkson’s popular filter for wastewater treatment applications, but innovates in one key area. Instead of operating on a continuous backwash schedule, the EcoWash™ minimizes energy use and reject flow by triggering the backwash cycle only for short periods of time.

Parkson’s Complete Enhanced Nutrient Removal (ENR) System Outperforms in a Chesapeake Bay Wastewater Treatment Plant

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Parkson Corp. has successfully demonstrated a complete enhanced nutrient removal system, proving its ability to cut costs and meet strict wastewater treatment requirements.

The results from the 18-month trial of the new DynaSand® EcoWash™ filtration system combined with the Biolac® extended aeration activated sludge show that this system performs effectively and at approximately half the capital cost of competing designs.

Parkson Launches Separations and ENR Center of Excellence

Parkson has created a new Center of Excellence (COE) for Separations and ENR that builds on the strength of the newly redesigned Lamella® EcoFlow™ and DynaSand® EcoWash™. These long-running Parkson product lines have been redesigned to use less energy and reduce equipment costs for our customers.

“The challenge was to take a 40-year-old technology and find a way to improve it and make it new again,” said Russ Cook, Director of Process Engineering and Quality. “And we did that with both DynaSand® and Lamella®.”
